Creating art is a privilege, because we have the ability to manifest something from nothing into an image and form. Artwork is a medium that represents atmosphere, expression, emotion, taste and can also become an "ideology" for artistic and aesthetic movements.
I Made Kenak Dwi Adnyana is a contemporary Indonesian artist who focuses on nature and juxtaposes his subject with other elements and abstract forms that create opportunities for viewers to dig deeper into both his compositions and wider issues of conservation. Born and raised in the Kintamani, the agrarian heart of Bali, has a had huge influence on his works. The root of all his works are about nature, flora, fauna and man’s relationship with them. For him, landscape is an image of the natural body which, like the human body, needs to be cared for and maintained. He employs strong colors with a palette knife on the canvas to create his paintings. Master artists who have inspired him are the American abstract artist, Mark Rothko, and Fajar Sidik, an Indonesian legend.
