“ Painting is as essential as breathing … It is the most important aspect of my life”
Adhik Kristiantoro began his artistic journey at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI), Yogyakarta, in 2000. His practice focuses on abstract figurative painting, a visual language that has evolved through the various phases of his life and artistic exploration.
His works combine figurative forms with abstract patterns through expressive drawing techniques. Each artwork is inspired by personal experiences and observations of everyday life—what he sees, hears, and feels. These experiences continually shape the development of his artistic practice, resulting in a body of work that remains dynamic and ever-evolving.
Since 2004, Adhik has served as Chairman of Barbaradoz Art Familia, a Yogyakarta-based art collective that actively promotes collaborative contemporary art practices and creative exchange.
