About the Artist

Kayalvizhi Sethukarasu (Kayal) is an established Indian contemporary and abstract artist, known for her evocative landscapes and deep connection to rural life in India. She holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts (B.V.A) from Bharathiyar Palkalai Koodam, Pondicherry Fine Arts College.

Rooted in the cultural and environmental richness of Indian village life, Kayal’s work is a reflection of her unwavering commitment to portraying the peace, purity, and serenity found in her surroundings. Her abstract landscapes capture the lush greenery and quiet rhythms of rural India, offering viewers a meditative experience that transcends geography.

Kayal’s art is deeply inspired by the resilience of the human spirit and the tranquility of nature. While many look outward to the West for inspiration, she journeys inward—to her roots—to explore and visually archive the cultural inheritance of generations. Her layered compositions are more than visual scenes; they are spiritual reflections—gentle expressions of calm, hope, and introspection. Each piece invites the viewer to pause, reconnect, and find beauty in life’s ever-changing rhythms.

Her works have been showcased in numerous national and international exhibitions, and are part of several prominent private and personal collections. With a growing transnational presence, Kayal’s art continues to resonate with audiences across the globe, earning acclaim for its emotional depth and artistic sensitivity.
