“My brushstrokes are my spontaneous reactions to what I see in the world around me.”
Andreas C Wijaya knew that Painting is his life's calling from a very young age. Wijaya wholeheartedly embraced the path of becoming an artist while still in High School. His painting style encompasses realism, expressionism, and sometimes impressionism, executed spontaneously with dynamic brushstrokes that gives a unique character to his works. These spontaneous brushstrokes are a response to the ideas that emerge in his mind when observing landscapes, during journeys or specific events, and even while reading books. Influential artists who have had an impact on him include Basoeki Abdullah, a master artist from Indonesia, and Antonio Blanco, a Spanish-American painter who spent his life in Bali.
