“Art is a process of expressing thoughts and reflections by materializing them in visual forms”
Anjani Citra is a young Indonesian painter from Bali and her works are predominantly abstract in style. Bali’s strong cultural and social backdrop has shaped her artistic soul since childhood. Anjani’s works are vibrant and expressive.
Although her early training had been in realistic drawings, she discovered the beauty of distilling figurative and realist forms to create decorative surrealism and narrative abstractions. Primarily, her love for colours led her through this exploration process of styles and media. In her abstract works she applies a combination of techniques such as aquarelle, monoprint and pouring technique. She also employs hair dryer pressure, compressor, spray and airbrush techniques to create unique silhouettes on her canvas. Although young, she has exhibited her works prolifically and also has a solo show to her credit.
