B.N. Hariprasad is an Indian contemporary artist who takes inspiration from classical Indian art, rendering them beautifully in a contemporary style. The modern Indian art style dates back to colonial India, starting in Kolkata in the late nineteenth century. Starting from universities founded by the British, Indian artists slowly began to incorporate cultural elements into their art to pay homage to classical art as well as their own traditions.
Hariprasad stays true to this tradition, working extensively and being awarded by the Department of Kannada and Culture in the state of Karnataka, India, as well as participating in various art exhibitions organised by the department. He has also collaborated with Nepali artists in joint exhibitions showcasing talent from both India and Nepal.
