Jyoti C Singh Deo is a rising contemporary artist from Jharkhand, India. Having spent her childhood days in the coal belt of India, the life of coal mine workers left an indelible imprint on her mind. Reflections of this can be seen in her paintings. She started her artistic journey with water colours and later went on to explore various other media including oil, acrylics, enamel, charcoal and more. In her latest works with ink on paper, she creates art in a narrative style, weaving stories from her creative imagination. Great masters like Vincent Van Goh have had great influences in her artistic process and has inspired her style and themes. Jyoti Singh now lives in Bangalore and continues to work from there.
