"My thoughts are wired for each of my brush stroke to paint the authenticity of every village and honour its aura through their narrative abstract Landscapes."
Kayalvizhi Sethukarasu (Kayal) is an Established Indian contemporary and abstract artist. She graduated with B.V.A from Bharathiyar Palkalai Koodam Pondicherry Fine Arts College, INDIA.
When the world looked to the west to enrich their lives, she travelled to her roots to understand the richness of traditions and preservation of cultural inheritance in the villages of India. Her collections are catalogued depictions of peace, purity and serenity of Indian villages engulfed in exotic greenery. The realness of every village and its originality is depicted with minute detailing in her works. The placid beauty of the village lake, the hush silence at the arena where everyone relaxes, the natural stagnant waters with green floras decorated by vibrant lotus buds waiting to bloom, have all been inspirations to her artistic pursuit. As an artist, her earnest desire is to preserve the authentic culture and dying traditions of rural India and portray them with soothing and refreshing colors adding luminosity to reality.
Her latest series of abstract landscapes have been very popular in various exhibitions and art shows and found homes in India and internationally with prominent art collectors.
