“My work, the water series or figurative series aims to provide peace and calmness – both to me and my audience”
Rashmi Soni is an established Indian contemporary artist. Her artworks have been displayed in many national and international art galleries. Her works are often realistic and figurative in style. In her formative years, she was inspired by classical artists like Anthony Ryder and Michele Angelo, which led to adopting art styles that tended towards realism. Nevertheless, she developed her own distinctive flavour of realism with loose strokes and vivid colours.
Her artworks are in the permanent collection of Delhi Lalitkala Acedemy, Karnataka LalitKala Academy, Lovely Professional University Chandigarh and in many other private art collections in India and abroad. She has done various commissioned works too which are mostly portraits in oil colors, water colors, pastels and charcoals.
