Refijon is an established artist from Indonesia with a very unique perspective of magical realism. The objective of a magic realist is to bring us fresh presentations of the everyday world we live in. Refijon as well chooses unusual points of view and mysterious juxtapositions of common objects and presents them in uncanny ways. Most things we see in his works are within the realm of the real, although they seem unlikely. His works border surrealism in that it looks impossible; but it is still imagined reality illustrated using both traditional and experimental artistic techniques. He captures the vagaries of nature and the phenomenon of human life in his paintings.
