About the Artist

Reza Pratisca is a young Indonesian artist who has a style that combines surrealism and pop-art. Reza’s father, a painter himself, was Reza’s first teacher who inspired her to follow her calling and adopt the surrealistic style of painting. Reza has been consistent with her techno style using elements such as robots and machines as metaphors in her works. Among the various themes she has explored, proliferation of technology, unfolding of modernisation and over-indulgence in social media have been the predominant subjects. Reza aspires to explore the unlimited media and subjects available around her to find new ways to express her creativity and evolve in her pursuit of creating a powerful oeuvre.

Reza is the notable winner of the prestigious Basoeki Abdullah Art Award in 2016. Reza also has been nominated as finalist of the ‘UOB painting competition of the year’ three years in a row from 2015 to 2017.

Reza is enterprising and innovative and has launched an artist collective with artists from various backgrounds and culture in Yogyakarta, to further her collaboration with new age artists.
