About the Artist:

Painting for Irwan is the choice of life, since Irwan started to paint since when he was a kid.

Irwan Sukendra was graduated from Institute of Arts Yogyakarta in 1985. He is a realist painter who mostly does sketches. He usually does sketching on the spot, mostly visualize the circumstances of the crowd spots in Yogyakarta that never sleeps and many cultural events especially Traditional Java dance and wayang (puppet) performance.

Irwan already had experiences in visualizing traditional Java dance and wayang performance , he is very detail in each of his works as he also studies the history and content of each dance and wayang show that he visualize. Irwan also paints on canvas that also visualizes and promotes the beauty of Indonesia culture.

Need to Know:

Irwan Sukendra is one of the well known sketcher in Yogyakarta, as he is a senior one who has graduated from Institute of Art Jogja at 1985 and already joined exhibition since 1987 in Yogyakarta.
