The Himalayan Odyssey is a painting which was inspired by the work of Mr. David Samuel Robbins. I was much inspired by his book titled, “The Himalayan Odyssey”. He is an epic photographer who had journeyed across the entire Himalayan range. I had taken a permission from him to paint two of his photographs. This particular painting is from one of the mountain ranges in Ladakh. In this painting I have used the combination of different shades of yellow and blue. I come from Nepal and I have been accustomed to seeing monasteries so in many ways it was like going back to the childhood memories. To add to its allure, it’s a beautiful landscape and has a spiritual feel to it.
