Madan is versatile genius artist who understand the meaning of perfection. His content represents that he is well versed in the theory of Natya sastra, treatise on dramatic art written by Brahman sage and priest Bharata. He painted cuckoo Who is alert and fully conscious what ever is happening around. She is fond of singing always sits on the mango trees. Tempting mango trees in spring trees which are related to romance. But in this work the cuckoo is perturbed and welling up in her mind. Parrots near by too are melodious and discussing about the self preservation. I feel these parrots suggest the koel ‘’A beautiful art is always a meeting ground of the sublime and the particular—the ideal and the sensuous.’’ So parrots are sensuous as blessed by Kama but koel is black. She is gifted with beautiful sound to express the relation to God.Madan is a thinker and understands the condition of the koel when she flies in the sky after measuring the storm of various colors perhaps remembering the lines of Rabindranath - ‘’There is no mere play This is the intense pain When my heart burns.’’ Madan is like the adept gardner who know how to sow seeds of fragrance in life. Looking on the canvas one start listening the symphonies of music which become one with the musical voice of koel.
