During his initial years of art training, the artist fell in love with watercolour as a painting medium. He considered landscapes to be an important genre for working in this medium. Accordingly, he used to explore distant villages in Shimultola, Murshidabad, Canning, Gourdaha and other places, visual traces of which can be seen in his outdoor watercolours. While working in this medium, the artist was drawn towards the transparent technique and a major section of his water colour works are done following this method. One can find an abundance of the colour green in his works as the natural landscapes, it's ambience, canopy of leaves and serenity caught his attention. While working in this medium his primary intention was to capture the very essence of the subject as honestly as possible.
